I've a stack of books too large for me to PM in the near future, and I'm too lazy to scan without some immediate demand. But given a public outcry for a particular book, I'd bestir myself, scan them, and e-mail you the scans. Just contact me for details.
Available for Adoption by PM
- Benson, Louis (d. 1930): One of the most important American hymnologists around the turn of the century.
- The Hymnody of the Christian Church
- Fletcher, J. S. (d. 1935): British mystery
- Murder of the Ninth Baronet
- Oppenheim, E. Phillips: (British action/adventure/romance. A number of books at PG-US, but this may not be clearable there, depending on exact first U.S. publication date).
- Up the Ladder of Gold
- Pratt, Waldo Seldon (d. 1939): (Important musicologist)
- The History of Music (1935 edition, later than any which could be cleared in the U.S.; the wikisource version is less than 30% complete.)
- Roche, Arthur Somers (d. 1935) (prolific mystery writer)
- In the Money
- Train, Arthur (d. 1945): a mystery writer--although, since his stories feature honest New York lawyers, they might better be characterized as fantasies. PG-US has some of his books, but these two were renewed and can't be cleared in the U.S. They should work well as eye-candy for trapping innocent new proofreaders.
- Old Man Tutt
- The Blind Goddess
- Williams, Valentine (English mystery writer, d. 1946)
- Masks off at Midnight
