Aspell

Aspell is a spell checker used by DPC for verifying correct spellings in words. Aspell has several dictionaries that come with it (optional download) that handle several foreign languages. It is part of the GNU Project, and so can be downloaded from GNU's ftp server, or any of the http mirrors scattered about.

Install ASPELL:

  • Download Aspell for Windows.
  • Click on the file you downloaded to start the installation.
  • Follow the installation script. For easy configuration, make sure that Aspell installs into C:\Program Files\Aspell
  • Download any aspell dictionaries you may use. I only use the English dictionary. The dictionaries are self-extracting Windows Setup programs for easy installation.
  • Follow the installation instructions for each dictionary you wish to use. Just accept the defaults.
