Preparing and facilitating projects
Content Provider (and Missing Pages Hunter)
- To provide content using harvested scans, no requirements
- Otherwise, a scanner
Before a project can go onto DPC, it needs a copyright clearance line to show that it can be legally posted to PGC. For more information, see the current Content Provide FAQ in FAQ Central, and the in-progress draft of a new CP FAQ in this Wiki. PLEASE NOTE that copyright clearances are issued by DPC Site Admins, not by PGC.
Providing OCR
- OCR software
See the instructions at The OCR Pool.
Project Manager
- A DPC account
- Familiarity with the DPC Workflow process and Guidelines
- Request PM status by e-mailing Simple Simon
See also the current PM FAQ in FAQ Central, and the in-progress draft of a new PM FAQ in this Wiki.
Working in The Rounds
P1
- A DPC account
It doesn't take much time or effort to create a DPC account.
P2
- 300 P1 pages
- Pass the proofreading quiz (quiz results expire after six months)
- 21 days since registration at DPC
You can monitor your progress toward the requirements, and apply for access, on the P2 "home" page.
F1
- 300 P1 pages
- Pass the formatting quiz (quiz results expire after six months)
- 21 days since registration at DPC
You can monitor your progress toward the requirements, and apply for access, on the F1 "home" page.
P3
You can monitor your progress toward the requirements, and apply for access, on the P3 "home" page. After these requirements are met, the volunteer's P2 pages are reviewed before access is granted. See P3 qualification for more details.
F2
- 400 F1 pages
- 91 days since registration at DPC
You can monitor your progress toward the requirements, and apply for access, on the F2 "home" page. After these requirements are met, the volunteer's F1 pages are reviewed before access is granted. See this forum post for more details.
Please remember that it sometimes it takes a while for pages to make it through the F2 queue and then F2. It would be a very good idea to keep working in F1 while you wait, so that there are always recent pages available for the qualification process.
