Hi.

I am looking for someone who has access to the University of Toronto, Robarts Library of Humanities & Social Sciences and could photocopy/scan a few pages of this book and email them to me.

I am missing pages 167-170 (inclusive) of
Soyer's culinary campaign.
By Alexis Soyer.

Stacks
DK214 .S73 1857

Rare Book
B-12 07883

here is the link to the catalog info.

Thanks!
Chuck

Dear Chuck:

The only person in our community (to my knowledge) who gets into the Univ. of Toronto libraries regularly is Mark Akrigg of PGC.

His email address is:

contact.gutenberg@yahoo.ca

Hope he can help you

Cheers

Simon

It is precisely because he is unable to help that I have posted here.
In any case, I have contacted the library directly and their copy... which is the copy at Archive.org... is missing those pages. So, a trip would be in vain I'm afraid.

Chuck, WorldCat shows this title possibly available at Brooklyn (NY) and NYU libraries so Close@Hand (Neil) at DP-INT might be able to track it down for you. He does a lot of missing page work in the New York City area.

There are no listed holdings in Ohio or I'd try to ILL it for you.

There is also a copy at UBC (University of British Columbia). It's listed as 'rare' but I don't know what that means for them. Anyone have access? I could try to ILL it, but I suspect they won't send it out with that designation.

Who's the publisher? I can get hold of the 1857 Routledge edition.

According to the U. Toronto catalog link, they have the 1857 Routledge also.

Okay, it's not in a special collection, so I can borrow it next time I go to the library; that may not be for 10 days or so, unfortunately, since I was there last Monday.

Thanks much! For some reason, I am not getting updates on this forum.

This is the 1857 edition, Routledge & Co.

Someone at the library has told me that those pages are missing from their copy.

But if you are going there, I would very much appreciate it if you could check for me.

If you can, please pm me.

Thanks again!

Updates occasionally spontaneously self-destruct.

(The copy I have access to is at a different library, so with any luck will be complete.)
